In America and around the world we have had what is being described as a pandemic. A pandemic as described by Webster is ”occurring over a wide geographic area and affecting an exceptionally high proportion of the population.”
A pandemic can actually be of many different things and we have actually been though many different pandemics and we will get through this one. But we have seen the world shift in the last few months. As with any massive change in all areas at sonic speed, it can be messy, confusing, frustrating and downright scary at first.
There is often miscommunication, misinformation and panic.
So, as we maneuver through this maze and try to be safe, by washing our hands often, enforcing social distancing, reverting to online learning and staying home, there is one more very important element to implement in this whirlwind time and that is for us to be kind.
Kind is being more patient as we experience interruptions to the many conveniences that we have become accustomed to in our modern day lives. Kind is being more understanding as we move about in this uncharted territory. Kind is being more courteous as we interact, even from a distance and kind is being more helpful to those who are in need.
So, by the time you read this whether we may be past this pandemic or not, kindness is always a piece of the answer to us doing our part.
So as this pandemic passes us by as a moment in time that we are thankful to see in the rear view mirror, let us make history by creating a better future and declare to make kindness a lasting man-made world-wide pandemic!
